I’ve seen lots of discussion about different mario golf tricks, but it’s hard to tell which ones are real game-changers. The mario golf walkthrough lists several options, yet some don’t seem to work in my runs.

Which mario golf tips or tactics consistently help across challenging mario golf levels? Do some tricks only work in older builds, or are they still viable in the current mario golf version? I want to strengthen my mario golf strategy before entering a mario golf competition.
