A Microsoft Azure certification can help you stand out from the crowd when you’re looking for your next career opportunity or promotion, but to earn it, you’ll have to pass the AZ-900 certification exam. Here are some tips and tricks that will help you understand Azure concepts and become a certified expert.
Describe Cloud Concepts
With this AZ-900 exam you can prepare for a future of technology change. However, with any change comes new learning that might be confusing and off putting. The best way to get ahead of your AZ-900 exam is by leveraging education tools like how2pass practice questions.
These resources include full explanations and provide a deeper understanding of cloud concepts like infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), data storage, software licensing, and more. How2pass provides you with multiple question types to accurately assess what knowledge gaps you have after completing an AZ-900 practice test in addition to az 900 free questions which will give you the opportunity to test your skills before the big day!
Describe Azure Architecture
Azure is a cloud computing platform with many different components and services. When you start designing your app or architecture, it's important to know how these work together. The first step is defining how much compute power you need.
Azure offers two different types of VMs: one that's highly scalable and another that can run certain workloads better than others. For example, if you're running SQL Server on the VM, then a higher CPU value is a good idea because it will be doing more intensive processing; otherwise you may want a lower CPU count for quicker response times.
Select an appropriate deployment model for a service
There are two types of cloud deployments: public and private. Public clouds enable any user, with a valid Internet connection, to use their resources from anywhere in the world. Private clouds are usually reserved for trusted users within an organization. They provide more security and control over data access. AWS is a typical example of a public cloud; AWS is accessible by anyone with an Amazon account. Microsoft Azure provides both models.
The AZ-900 certification exam covers all three deployment models - public, private, and hybrid. For example, if you deploy your application as a multi-tenant service (public), you will only have one instance of the service running at any given time because all clients share that same infrastructure resource pool. If you deploy your application as a dedicated instance (private), then you'll have multiple instances of your service running at once because each client has dedicated infrastructure resources that they can use independently.
Configure VMs in Azure
This exam consists of 50 questions. If you answer all of the questions correctly, you will get about 94% which is the passing score for this test. Once you are on your desktop or laptop, open Microsoft Edge and type AZ-900 Practice Test and a list of practice tests will pop up. Make sure that in order to avoid cost overages with your Azure account, don't start running an excessive number of VMs or Instances at one time!
The limit on VM instances is 15 during Standard Billing and 100 during Premium Billing. You can also do other things like create storage accounts, configure security groups, create virtual networks and more! Remember: In the AZ-900 Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certification exam there are 50 questions which consist of topics such as cloud concepts; Azure architecture and virtual machines in azure.
Manage VMs using PowerShell
The AZ-900 certification exam is designed to test your knowledge of basic Azure concepts and architecture, like services, components, deployment types, and network settings. Most of these concepts are directly applicable in AWS as well. As a Microsoft Cloud Practitioner - Certified Professional exam, it's only offered in the English language.
Other similar exams include the AZ-300 or 301 certifications for Windows Azure Platform or Cloud Services respectively. The AWS has a related qualification with their AWSP (AWS Certified Public Engineer) certification which is extremely difficult but rewarding if you can complete it. Practice can make all the difference so go take some AZ-900 practice tests before you schedule your exam date!
Monitor applications in Azure
Before you can deploy apps to an Azure instance, it is important that you create your account. From the top level navigation, select Create a Resource from the left pane.
Under Compute, select Web app. Then fill in all of the fields as follows:
- Name : first use azure webapps - Subscription: Select (your) subscription - Region: Your geographic location or closest geographically close datacenter - Deployment slot: Free Standard if deploying a new application or Standard if redeploying an existing application - App Service Plan Name: AWS Cloud Practitioner exam questions
Click Create. Now you have your first app and deployment slot ready, let’s deploy it and monitor it using Azure Monitor.
